HOTTEST BEAUTY ITEM: MICELLAR WATER (DOES IT WORK?)
You know how beauty brands are climbing over each other right now, trying to outwit each other at every turn? I mean, who am I kidding. It has always been this way. Very rarely do you see all the major beauty companies come up with a similar product which does the same thing, feels the same and looks the same!
INSERT MICELLAR WATER.
Every major brand out there has recently launched their own brand of Micellar Water. One may ask mice-what? We are paying $13 for bottled water now? Hear me out. This is one of the best inventions ever. Or so I think.
We all know about waterproof makeup. Probably the kind Beyoncé and her dancers use. But have you ever tried to get it off after partying like it 1992 and the darn makeup is resistant to toner, makeup wipes and/or cleansers? I have. In cases like this, I found coconut oil to be very effective but oh the mess it leaves behind.
Then I tried micellar water and it worked! Like magic. Think of micelles as an agent that brings oil and water together when making cosmetics (in this sense). In the same way, the formula of this product is made in a way that, it mixes the oil and water in every kind of makeup product and strips it away clean! So the more you rub in, the better your chances of cleaning the makeup and cleansing the skin. Sounds like a lot of cotton balls is needed and that is absolutely true.
I have so far used two bottles; one from NYX cosmetics and L'Oréal. Both are odor-free and lightweight. Some companies are naming it "Beauty Water or Beauty h2o". It is the same thing so go on and get you one.
PS: As a general rule, rinse with warm water after using cleansers. Then seal with cool water before applying any lotion or oil. Very important.
